US Air Force Successfully Implements a Public Sector Application Rationalization Effort and Move to Oracle's ERP Suite

US Air Force partnered with Diligent Consulting, who chose to include the Intellisys platform as part of their “Evolution” solution. This solution won the project to extract rules from and rationalize 55 legacy systems at the Joint Base Randolph Air Force Base.

The Story

The United States Air Force (USAF) Life Cycle Management Center was looking to do a comprehensive IT analysis of USAF legacy systems in order to determine whether the Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system would be a good fit for these applications. Diligent Consulting presented them with their “Evolution” solution as a means to identify the deltas between USAF legacy systems and the Oracle EBS ERP and provide recommendations on how to best implement the functionality within EBS. Deliverables for this public sector application rationalization project also included a technical roadmap for potential Government consolidation of functionality into or severability of functionality from the existing/planned programs. The “Evolution” solution hinged on Intellisys as a key tool to help them extract the systems meta-data and provide artifacts for analysis.
